Donna and Barbara visited the students at Educational Alternatives, a school for exceptional children in Miami. They brought along some very special dogs and cats, and even a chinchilla. Cheyenne, our blind and beautiful 2 year old cattle dog, and a rescue from New Orleans, was a favorite of the students, and gave them kisses. It is hard to tell she is blind at all. Fat Actress, our sweet cocker spaniel with only one eye, walked around the children off leash. She is a great dog to have around kids, she moves slow and she is loving and very friendly. Thumper the kitty, who has no hind legs, was the show off, walking around without a problem, proving that no matter what you are dealt with in life, you can be successful in whatever you choose to do. Wolfie, our beautiful cat with Feline Aids, Dixie the pup and Chi Chi the chinchilla were also special guests that the students just adored. Along with the hands on fun, the students were taught the lessons of how to approach and pet a dog and also that there are no "throwaway" dogs, cats or people, despite their appearance. It was a rewarding day for all.
