A Happy Life!

Hope this e-mail finds you well. Mia has adjusted to us wonderfully. She seems especially attracted to me, maybe I remind her of her previous owner because she follows me around and always wants to be next to me and gets excited and happy to see me. It's hard to believe she has only been with us just a few days, she walks all over our house like she has been there forever. She is the dog of my dreams! I love her!! She is housebroken, walks fin on the leasha nd is patient with her grooming. She also gets along wonderfully with my other 2 dogs. She and my Chinese Crested runs all ove the house playing with each other, they are so cute together. I also have a 16 year old Lab/German Sheperd mix who is very gentle with little dogs and they give each other kisses. I'll try to take pictures of them together and send to you soon. Mia has an appointment with my vet this afternoon and I'll let you know how that goes.

Have a great day!

(adopter; Vivian Diaz)

We stayed together!

Vulcan and Zepher will grow up together in their new and loving home. As you can see they are being spoiled already.

It is our first day together as the New Hernandez family and we are finally getting to enjoy all the play time with Butch this afternoon. After getting back from adopting him, Giovanni our 7 year old son is already enjoying all the play time with Butch. He seems to be a great addition. J Thanks Livia for the chew toy he loves it. Thanks again, Carmen, Jerry, Giovanni and of course Butch

Sammy the Happy Dog

Samy is doing fantastic! He is so full of energy. He and I go for a jog most mornings then sometimes we rollerblade with him in the evenings but he does go to bed early each night. He winds down around 7pm and he's done until the next morning. He has "sit" down to a T and makes sure to do that each time before he gets his walk. He also alerts us when he has to go out by sitting next to the front door.(However he loves going outside every 5 seconds!) He "lays" down usually when told and is learning how to bring the ball back to us when we throw it for him. Each day we fall more in love with him. He also loves getting carrots AND he takes vitamin E for his coat to continue to look shiny red and beautiful. We love Samy and he is really a happy dog! -The Thomas Family

Sasha is loving the beach and making friends in Naples!

We have named Sara "Sasha". She has completely adapted to our home and environment. Last night she slept thru the night until 8am this morning (out sleeping me!). She gets lots of exercise b/c we all fight to take her out on walks. We also took her to the doggie beach on Sunday and she LOVED it! Thanks again for everything. We can't even imagine our lives without her at this point! Mandy Goins

Paige Loves the Raw Hides!

Hey Barbara, Just wanted to let you know how well Paige is doing. She woke up this morning and went outside and did her business then we went for our morning walk after which she decided she likes the bed so came she back to it. She follows me everywhere, its adorable.  Paige really seems to be enjoying herself a lot. Her tail is up and she likes walking around and sleeping. The bed and the couch are her favorite spots. She likes to follow Rocko around. She grabbed a tennis ball when I returned from the market. She doesn't have the gist of catch yet, but I think in time she will get the hang of it. She has been watching Rocko do it all day. She has been eating great and running around tonight with Rocko. Joany and I are happy to report that she is adjust extremely well. I would like to thank you for all you do for these animals. You guys are great! Its nice to go to a shelter and see people that actually care and form bonds with the animals. Its really heartwarming and it makes me glad that there are people out there that care enough to make a difference in these lives. Honestly, they need the work you all do. Thanks, William and Joany  P.S. Hope you like the pictures!

Brees (now Sadie) and Manning: Mother and pup get to stay together!

Relay finds love...

I am happy to report that our new family member is just that our family member. He is so cute. The dog I brought home on Saturday is not the one I have today. His eyes are sparkly and not sad, he has gained weight and he is so playful. I love that he thinks he is a cat and likes to jump on my ottoman, then on to the couch ( which is Cinderella’s territory) and then he jumps on the top of all the blankets on a perch. He comes now when I call him and he even speaks Spanish. He is officially bilingual now. Thank you to everyone that has made this possible. I love him and he makes me laugh when I go home with all his energy. He is as ADD as I am. My daughter is in love with him. Thank you for bringing such joy to our home. Julie

Jack updates...

Hi Barbara, Just wanted to let you know Jack is doing well and he has put on a few pounds.  I was looking at the pictures you have posted on the website and he was pretty skinny when we got him.  Thought I would send you some new pictures. We went back to PA for Christmas and both dogs flew with us on the plane.  They were our carry on luggage. Jeanette

Gomer found a home!

Hi Donna,  Gomer is doing fine... still has some training issues,  but little by little he is getting there. Here are some pictures of Gomer during Halloween. Chrissy

Mrs. Paws aka Bella

Hello! I just wanted to thank you for all of your help in adopting Mrs. Paws. She has been a wonderful addition to our family and we already love her dearly. Tara

Dreidel - Mrs. Paws' Puppy

She's an absolute sweetheart, and I think she looks a lot like a big Jack Russell Terrier, weighing in now at 30 lbs. (21 weeks old.)  She likes to dig, has a nose that won't quit, and loves sleeping on my bed rather than in her crate!!   I've already taught her her to "sit" and "stay", and we're starting obedience training in a couple of weeks.  She's learning how to go potty outside, but would rather go inside...especially when it's cold, windy and rainy outside.  Fortunately the weather is improving so I'm sure she'll be an expert by the time fall rolls around! Susie Kinney

More of Maya...

Here are some updated pictures of Maya. She is doing good and loves the dog park. Lena

Beautiful Burlap!

Hi Barbara and Donna! I got your email and I wanted to share this picture with you. All of the "babies" in the house! My parents came down for Christmas and fell in love with Burlap, too!! I'll be in touch! Jennifer

Happy Ho Ho Ho from Newton!

Sparky's Adventure...

What a smart and funny dog I have adopted!!  Anyways, Sparky has a whole room to himself  but guess what..... we found him on top of the washer and dryer very cozy with some clean clothes laying down all comfy. We do not know how did he make it up there but he sure did! Then he couldn't get down so I helped him.  Monica and Javi

Dancer finds Paradise!

Hello, We wanted to say thank you for allowing Dancer to become a part of our family. She is fabulous! She is so sweet with the children. She and the cats have become fast friends. She is a source of security when the lights go out. We were skeptical in adding one more to the brood (mommy, daddy, kid 1, kid 2, nanny, three cats, fish, and one large parrot), but she has been a wonderful addition. Adopting an older dog that is already a bit seasoned was the way to go. We recommend it to everyone eyeing a puppy. Thank you again, the Mahoneys.

Maya - a gift of love

We just adopted "Maya" for our 8 year old son. He has always wanted a dog, so when we decided to go ahead and expand our family we knew we wanted to adopt from a rescue facility, not a breeder. We have been searching for the past 6 months for the right dog mainly using PetFinder.com and when we came across Maya's page, that was it. We live all the way in Largo, FL but we did not care. We knew she was the one. Barbara was her wonderful Fairy Tails foster mommy who helped keep her until Christmas time for us and helped us set up transport (Thanks Val) to get Maya home for the holidays. Maya is our little baby and we love her more than we could of ever imagined. She is the BEST mannered dog I have ever seen. She is actually laying at my feet right now while I am typing. Thank you so much for everything and for giving us the best Christmas gift of our lives.  Rob, Lena, Kyle, Hunter and Maya

Beautiful Miss Maggie Mud!

Donna It has been almost a year (we adopted Hot Lips on 1/26/06) and Miss Maggie Mae (her new name) is just growing into the best dog anyone could ever ask for.  When we adopted her, because she was a drop off, you thought she could be anywhere from 4-6 weeks old.  So we decided that the entire month of December should be celebrated as her first birthday.  Maggie is super energetic, loves the dog park, can run for hours and as the picture shows loves the water (even the muddy water).  Everyone comments on how cute she is and even when she has done bad, I can’t help but fall in love all over again with that smile and those ears.  Attached are some pictures, the first on the day we brought her home and the second about 3 months ago at the dog park.  We will send more after the holidays.  Merry Christmas!  Love, Mark, Liza & Maggie

Cutie finds love!

Cutie aka Widget aka Jinxs has found a wonderful home with Frank!!!

Coco is adorable!

Hi Fairy Tails! Just wanted to send you an update on our newest family member, Coco! She is Gretel's sister - one of the black lab pups who were found in the Everglades. She spends most of her day chasing her feline family members and chewing on her stuffed mallard duck - pictures of that to come soon! She went on her first fishing trip to Key Largo this past weekend - she's really turning out to be a daddy's little girl!We love our Coco! Sincerely, Mike and Cindy

Special Kitty Misu

Misu is very special because he has a condition called Congenital Vestibular Disease. The same day he was surrendered to Donna was the same day I took him home. He's the most adorable, loving, and playful Siamese I have ever seen. My kids adore him. He is the new addition to our family! Many thanks, Monica, Gianna & Brandon

Little Luna aka China Doll

Dear Donna. Thank you so much for the beautiful sun shine dog China Doll now Luna. We love this sweet little lady, We are very happy with her, and she is very happy too..Jaime and Ruby

Mr. Jack Sparrow

Mr. Jack Sparrow is doing well.  He is already quite attached to Amy. He and Alfie have had some play time. He enjoyed his lunch when he got home! He is really a very sweet dog. Jeanette

Dash out-dashes everyone at the dog park!

Finally snapped a couple pictures of Dash & Pete playing at the Islamorada dog park last weekend. NOT easy to get photos of 2 beagles on the run! They are both so fast! There were 15+ dogs at the dog park last Sunday. Dash and Pete are pretty good buddies and fun to watch them play together. For some reason, all the dogs like to chase them --I think they naturally egg the other dogs on. Dash is doing really well.  He has a great little personality and no one can resist his big brown eyes --very sweet face. Next weekend planning on taking him out on a boat with Pete (Pete loves the water). So will see if Dash might also be a waterdog. Lori

Sofia the golden girl

Donna and Barbara, When I arrived home with Maude, now Sofia, she explored my whole house, tail wagging, but always looking to make sure I was with her.  She loves the sliding glass doors that lead to my two patios!  Even got close to look out while it was pouring rain.  What a smart woman she is.  She went straight to the door when she wanted to go out.  And she seems to love to walk.  She pulled me back from going in one time and wagged her tail as we wandered the neighborhood.  Now she has three different rugs that she lays on - pretty much one in each major room.  But she is always checking.  If I leave the room, she follows. She is pure joy! I can see why you were getting close to her so fast.  As I was petting her and looking in her face, I was thinking she really looks more like "Sofia" than Maude to me.I thought it was interesting that she learned quickly I will dry her paws when we come in from outside.  She now waits at the door for me to get the towel and lets me pick up one paw at a time to dry it.  Pretty cool.  She even seemed to like it the last time. What a precious little gift she is!  Tina

The new Rocky!

Happy Thanksgiving
from Rocky! He is now
16 weeks!

Here are some pictures of Rocky, formely Capoochino. He weighed in at 9 pounds on Sept 7,2006. He is just a huge part of me. He is as good as you told me, but I must tell you he appears SO much smarter. Thanks for all you did and for "believing" in me and letting me adopt him. I totally understand your feelings but I know that I would treat him for him and accept his personality. He is a unique dog and has his own personality. I am SO happy. Lori

Mina's Success Story

Mina has brightened our home for over a year.  As a Maine Coon, she is an excellent mouser. She’s always available for technical support, and she never puts us on hold. Despite her technical expertise, she is unusually sensitive to beauty and balance. Although Mina has a strong work ethic, she reminds us not to take our careers too seriously. Here she is preparing her briefcase for work. Mina is a joy, a delight & a bit of a goof. We adore her. The Story family

Charlie and Sasha - the best of friends!

Charlie and Sasha were adopted about 1 year apart and now they are the best of friends! Charlie sleeps inside the closet, on top of my dad's clothes, and my dad lets him!!!! what a spoiled little brat...Sasha decided to sleep inside the trash can one day...no idea why...but I thought she looked funny so I took a picture. From Patrishka

Cinder and Keller - Fairy Tails do come true!

Hi Donna, I just walked into the other room and couldn't resist taking and sending this picture to you.  In the middle is Keller aka Monkey! Cinder and Monkey are certainly happy to be here and I am happy to have them. Yesterday (8/30/06) was the one year anniversary of bringing Cinder and Monkey home.  It was a rough start with the second surgery and ringworm but with your help we survived. Monkey is constantly on my lap as he is in this picture. He has a snaggle tooth probably from all the tubes hanging in his mouth at such a young age before his teeth had set but it adds to his character and he is a character and earns his name of Monkey every day.  He snuggled all night with my mom when she stayed here for the storm. Cinder is a happy kitty too and gets around so very well now that he has fine tuned all his senses.  He loves being on the patio listening to the birds in the birdbath. He scratches on the door when he wants to come in and out and I'm teaching him to come in when I say "house" which is starting to sink in.  As you can see he is on the back of my chair so getting around is no problem.  He jumps on the bed every night and settles in.I will be in touch when I can.  Just wanted to thank you for Monkey and Cinder.  Pamela

Just look at TK now!

Hey Donna Well I finally took some pictures of the dogs.   The are not to photogenic everytime I grab the camera they run.....So I will try to get some other pics to you, but we just want you to know we do love this dog a lot.... Well hope you enjoy the pictures. Katie

Jake and Jessie are living the life! (our Brewski and Cricket)

We wanted to send you some updated pictures, for your website, of the 2 delights we adopted from you! It is coming up on their 1 year birthday with us, and I can’t even begin to tell you how much joy they bring to our lives. We didn’t do so well last hurricane season (emotionally), both the dogs and us! So we bought a house in North Carolina with a BIG yard for them to run in. We are all going to be much happier up there. Michele & Kevin Romanach 03/06

Lil Darlin and Midori... so beautiful!

Hey Donna, thought you'd like to see how big and beautiful both "lil Darlin" (now "Dulce") and Midori have become.  JMerr 4/06

Missi - A Special Adoption Story

I've been wanting to send you pictures of the puppy that we adopted from you after Hurricane Katrina. You named her Missi since she came from Mississippi but we renamed her Coconut and she is a wild and crazy little girl. She is now seven months old, 34 pounds and was fixed three weeks ago. She is a bright spot in both my husband and my life. I can't say the same for her 9 year old brother Kash (our beagle) or her other two brothers Cisco and Tiggy who are both older cats. She has more energy than any of them know what to do with. We just wanted to show you that she is doing well and is dearly loved. Thank you, Deidre Ray 02/06
