Microchip your Pet

While it's always best to have tags including your address, home phone number and cell phone number, microchipping your dog or cat will increase your chances of reuniting in case of separation during an emergency. By embedding a microchip under your pet's skin, any veterinarian or animal facility will be able to identify the lost animal's owners.

Please refer to the ASPCA's adoption tips before you adopt. Remember you are making a decision to adopt an animal that will be with you for their lifetime.

Corky's Story

Hi! My name is Corky! On March 22, 2004 my former owners decided they didn't want me anymore.  I guess because I was pregnant. They didn't feed me enough either, so I was extremely underweight and I wasn't feeling well at all!corky3-use.jpg (15666 bytes)

One day, they brought me into Petco where they saw Donna and Fairy Tails (which, at the time, only rescued cats). They asked Donna if she wanted me. At the time, Donna was right in middle of moving to her new, donated facility and asked of they could wait a couple of days. Well, I guess they couldn't.

Later that night, my owners came back and dumped me at Petco. I guess they really wanted to get rid of me right away!

To make a long story short, Donna did take me and I became the very first Fairy Tails dog! So, if you're asking yourself, "Why should I adopt a homeless dog?" Just take a look into my eyes. I am so grateful to have this new lease on life. Thanks to all of you who are considering adopting a homeless animal or who have rescued homeless animals in the past. You are making fairy tails come true!

Now you know why we always charge adoption fees for our pets, and why we always screen so carefully for good homes. "Free" is all too often seen as "worthless" in the eye of the beholder.

Please, don’t offer your pets FREE to a good home, unless you just don’t care what happens to them.
